Ganguro/Yamamba

GANGURO: This is the opposite of ganjiro. They want to have the most possible tanned skin and dye their hair with light tones, they also wear light or pastel make up to make contrast with their faces and it seems the ultrabronzed californian style.
YAMAMBA: This is the most extremely provocative kind of kogal, they also have tanned skin, bleached hair, and white make-up that seems like a panda bear.
The Yamamba is considered a more extreme version of Ganguro.
the look is lots of makeup, deep tans or fake-n-bakes (to give the normally pale japanese tones ranging from golden bronze to chocolate), and bleached blond hair.
Both looks are rife with contreversy as many feel that the japanese are in a sense emulating black face and or ashamed of their heritage. I find that notion ludicrous, there is nothing wrong with stepping out of the beauty box. I love this style! Kawaii!

Hey I have just googled Ganguro and found your blog. God bless the Japanese, I would have never have even thought of using self tan in that way! You look awesome too x
